Summary of 2016@Legal Revisions of Social Insurance and Labor Insurance Programs



2016 Spring       Information sharing

The following law revisions will take effect in March 2016 or after.

ySocial Insurancez
Additional standardized salary grades for calculating medical and nursing care insurance premiums have been created.

 1, Standardized monthly salary table for calculating medical insurance premiums
*Revised Maximum Medical and Nursing care Insurance Premium

Following is the new and revised grades:

‡@    Monthly salary is JPY 1,175,000 `less than JPY1,235,000

‡A    Monthly salary is JPY1,235,000  `less than JPY1,295,000

‡B    Monthly salary is JPY 1,295,000   `less than JPY1,355,000

‡C    Monthly salary is JPY1,355,000 or larger  `

 Old grades for

the Medical Insurance premiums will be applied until March 2016

Maximum grade :  Monthly salary is JPY 1,175,000 or larger `@@

‚QAThe ceiling on the cumulative amount of yearly bonus

Until March 2016

Maximum yearly amount of cumulative bonus (from April to March):

JPY 5,400,000

New ceiling after April 2016

New maximum amount of yearly cumulative bonus: JPY 5,730,000

–Pension premiums is JPY1,500,000 on each payment.

3AChange in the Medical Insurance premium rate →@SI Premium Table is attached.
New rate: 4.98% each (total 9.96%)
*No change in the Nursing Care premium rate (total 1.58%).

4. Revision of the ADC premium rate (Allowance for dependent child) is changed from April or after.
New rate : 0.2%

5. There will also be changes in the calculation method for the sickness and injury allowance and the childbirth allowance from the Medical Insurance Program and as well as the dietary treatment expenses for inpatients.

yEmployment Insurancez
Revision in the Employment Insur ance premium rate is scheduled for April
New rate:  for employee - 4/1000, for employer - 7/1000.

We will update relevant information as soon as the official announcement is released.

yOther changesz

Ÿ Extended coverage of the social insurance programs from October

From October 2016, PART-TIME EMPLOYEES who work less than 30 hours a week will become eligible for social insurance programs. (Application to small- and medium-sized companies is to be deferred for the time being.) Please contact us
