Points to filing reports on the employment status of elderly and disabled workers



Companies with over a certain number of employees are required to report the status of employment of elderly and disabled workers as of June 1 annually. This year, the reports must be submitted by July 18. Since the format for the employment status of elderly workers has been revised, the article explains about the revised report as key points in filing a report on the employment of disabled workers.

 

[1] New format of the report on the employment status of elderly workers

The format for the report on the employment status of elderly workers have been revised from last year. Among the changes, the section title, “the status of workers who reached the mandatory retirement age over the past year (under 65)” has been changed to “the status of use of the program allowing employees to work until age 65 in the past year.” The guideline for completing the reports on the employment status of elderly and disabled workers provide explanations about the changes. [2] Points to preparing a report on the employment status of disabled workers

In preparing a report on the employment status of disabled workers, companies have to understand details of their workers’ disabilities with consideration of their privacy. For this reason, it is desirable to ask employees to provide necessary information in a generalized manner. Following are some examples.

-Establish an environment allowing all the employees to connect internal LAN and post the notice on a bulletin board in the intranet.

-Send the notice to all the employee by email.

-Hand out a written notice or internal newsletter containing the notice to all the employees.

-Include the information in a circular notice for all the employees

-Put up the notice on a bulletin board that all the employees are expected to see regularly.

 

In seeking the information, companies need to state clearly that the information will be used for the purpose of filing the report on the employment status. It is also advisable to clarify that providing the information is not a work order.

 

Reports on the employment status of elderly and disabled workers may be filed electronically through e-Gov, in addition to submitting in paper by mail or at Hello Work public employment security office. In filing the reports electronically, companies are required an electronic certificate or a gBizID. Companies considering obtaining a gBizID should check the Digital Agency’s website in advance, since issuing an ID may take some time.
